Match Preview: Southampton vs. Tottenham

The biggest question in this match is whether Southampton can replicate its success against Tottenham.

These two have a rivalry of some sort and in their previous matches, it was the Spurs that dominated their encounters.

But in their most recent game, Southampton snatched a narrow victory of 2-1. Due to the promising improvement that they have made, one cannot easily say that one squadha s the advantage over the other. Both have manifested strong desires to gain the three points and so the possibility of ending in an even steven finish will most likely to take place. A draw is priced at a profitable 3.23.

The Saints are at their strongest when they play in their own turf. As a matter of fact, they have already kept three clean sheets in their last three matches at St. Mary’s Stadium.

They could readily use this advantage against Tottenham since the latter is having problems with its away matches. To note, they lost the last five encounters that were held outside White Hart Lane. Such factor has been dragging them away from the Premier League’s top three. It also decreases their chances of winning the title race.

However, Southampton cannot be too complacent.

Tottenham has a better form than them. They won four of their last six matches, whilst the Saints could only afford two wins.

Likewise, it must be noted that they do not have too much injury concerns. To add, Eric Lamela is giving them the boost with his return from a hip injury whereas they have to deal with Charlie Austin, Jeremy Pied and Matt Target’s absence.

Due to this, there is a high possibility for the match to end in 1-1 but with Southampton netting the first goal (2.18) because of their home court advantage.
