It is a clash of the titans of some sort as Liverpool and Manchester City engage in an epic battle that will determine the better and more deserving club.
Both Liverpool and Manchester City are considered as strong title contenders this season.
The Reds is currently ranked 2nd with 40 points, while City closely follows them on the 3rd spot and with 39 points under its belt.
Their respective managers, Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp are known rivals in Bundesliga.
Guardiola used to manage Bayern Munich and Klopp handled its nemesis, Borussia Dortmund. Bayern dominated Dortmund, but it is a different story now since these managers have a different set of players.
It is easy to say that the match is a walk in the park for the Reds. They have a better rank and won three of their last five matches against City
In addition, they are at their strongest when they play at Anfield. They are undefeated in their last 16 home matches. Similarly, City was unable to secure points against them in the last 15 encounters that were held in their turf.
Liverpool’s form is also better than their visitor. They sport an undefeated five-match streak in their last six matches whereas their opponent has to deal with two consecutive losses.
However, while it seems like everything favors the Reds, the City that they fought before was still manage by Manuel Pellegrini. This is not to say that the Chilean tactician did not excel during his stay. But Guardiola’s arrival created a major change in the club.
When he (Guardiola) took over, the club showed more grit and pace. Although they are having problems in their defence, it cannot be denied that the City today flaunts a more aggressive and competitive face.
Sergio Aguero, alongside with Raheem Sterling blossomed even more.
Aguero, who just finished serving his ban is back in the starting XI and since he has missed some of the club’s crucial matches such as that of Arsenal, expect him to explode in the scoring list.
Speaking of their Arsenal encounter, the said game was crucial since it prove City’s capabilities of creating a great comeback.
But Guardiola’s squad cannot afford to be too confident since Liverpool could easily exploit the previously mentioned defensive problems that they have.
Moreover, the Reds have Adam Lallana and the sensational Sadio Mane, who have been consistently delivering goals for the squad.
Due to the high level of competitiveness exhibited by both squads, both squads will most likely to score in this match. There is a high chance that at half-time, the best result that they can snatch is a draw (2.31).
Since the teams have reliable strikers to turn to, betting for 2-3 goals (2.08) sounds lucrative. Likewise, it is also a sound move to go for Manchester City (3.10).
Guardiolas has dominated Klopp in their Bundesliga matches and there is a chance for him to replicate the same success.
As for the correct score, it a 1-2 (11.05) result would be a profitable bet.
