Match Preview: Liverpool vs. Swansea

Swansea snatched its second away win during their match against Crystal Palace and they are hoping to do the same when they meet Liverpool. Unfortunately, the Reds are pretty strong Anfield that they might even find it hard to score a goal in this game.

Despite the fact that Sadio Mane is out of the pitch since he has to represent his country in the African Cup of Nation, Liverpool does not run out of scoring options. They still have Adam Lallana and Roberto Firmino, to name a few, who could deliver the much needed goals. There is also the highly rated Philippe Coutinho, who made a grand comeback in the FA Cup match against Plymouth.

Aside from Liverpool’s army of strikers, they are also undefeated in their last 17 home matches. Moreover, they have never lost a match to Swansea in the last five matches that were performed at Anfield.

Speaking of the Swans, just recently, their manager manifested a positive attitude towards their position in the Premier League table. Yet, he did not disregard the possibility that they may be facing relegation soon.

It may be difficult to hear such admission, but Clement is simply being realistic.

The Swans are currently at the rock bottom part of the league table. They did impress when they crushed Crystal Palace, but that doesn’t really help them from getting out of the relegation zone.

They have already conceded three goals in five of their last matches, which is why there is a chance for Liverpool to keep a clean sheet in this game. A final score of 2-0 (7.18) is more likely to take place.

Fernando Llorente, who is their top scorer, will still play for them despite the news of him being swapped with Chelsea. Sadly, there is no assurance that he will be able to break through Liverpool’s defence.

Nevertheless, though the Swans are the least favorite in this encounter, it is less likely to end in a thrashing. The total number of goals that is expected to be netted in here is two (3.64).
